LSU was the first school to pay a college football coach a million a year when we hired nick saban. I think it should have capped at 4 million for a top coach.

I understand it’s a 24/7 job but give me a break. I’m sure you can manage with that pay

It’s all part of the same trend. Colleges sold out for the money - letting TV dictate when games are played, getting into arms races with coaching salaries and shiny new facilities, adding games to the season, hopping from conference to conference to chase extra dollars.

Then they complain that their sport has become professionalized. You can’t have it both ways
