Alabama track and field's Chris Robinson was named the Southeastern Conference's Men's Runner of the Week, while Samuel Ogazi was tabbed the Men's Freshman of the Week following their electric performances at the Battle of the Bayou last weekend.

Hailing from Tallahassee, Fla., Robinson registered a pair of NCAA-leading times last week. He highlighted the opening day of the Battle of the Bayou by clocking an NCAA-leading 49.13 in the men's 400-meter hurdles, while also setting the meet record en route to his first-place finish. Robinson teamed up in the men's 4x400-meter relay as the Crimson Tide's contingent ran a sub-3:01 time (3:00.77) to claim the event title, a meet record and the No. 1 time in the NCAA.

Coming from Kaduna, Nigeria, Ogazi was part of two top-three NCAA times last week. In his first race of the outdoor season, Ogazi clocked a 45.35 in the 400-meter dash to secure the No. 3 time in the nation. He also captured the fastest U20 400m time in the world, the second-fastest U20 time in Nigerian history, as well as the second-fastest 400-meter time by a Nigerian so far in 2024. Ogazi was also part of Alabama's NCAA-leading 4x400-meter relay that placed first with a time of 3:00.77

Alabama will return home this weekend, April 5-6, for its annual Crimson Tide Invitational, with the final day of the meet featuring Senior Day festivities. The UA men will enter the home meet ranked No. 14 in the country.
