Jimbo 100% gets fired if he gets 8 and 7 wins the next 2 regular seasons
This. Yes it's a ton of money, but yall underestimate how bad the BMAs want to win. They didnt sink money into a new stadium, new practice facilities, being on the forefront of NIL deals, coaching salaries, etc. to keep going 8-4. As cringy as it was (and definitely shouldnt have happend) to give fisher the blank natty trophy, there are certain expectations despite the rant claiming otherwise that we are happy with 8-4 seasons.
If we dont at least play for a conference championship in the next couple of seasons, I'd be willing to bet Fisher is gone, whatever the buyout is.
To answer RC's question, success is 9+ wins, this year. Next has got to be double digits and again, playing for a conference title soon.
Imploding is 7 or less wins. So really not much room between "success" and "imploding", but it is what it is. I can see where 8-4 buys Jimbo another year, but it wont be touted as a "success". Multiple 7 or 8 win years and I doubt he's still here. Interest in the program will be cratering and it's probably more of a liability to keep him around than pay the buyout and move on.

How is the schedule lining up this year and next? He has played a lot of freshmen this past year so he should not have to deal with "youth" anymore.
It's all about putting the talent on the team at the right spots to win almost every game. Scheme.
9 wins in the '23 schedule are going to be earned by Fisher, if he wins 9.
@ Miami
Bama
@ Tenn
@ Ole Miss
@ LSU
And lately Arky hasn't been easy, and even USCe broke Fisher, although I'd hope that having Petrino calling the plays should get those two games back on the W side of things fairly securely.
