If it implodes, I think that's all she wrote for the Fisher era.

This is why I don't really see a downside with the Petrino hire. Even if Petrino is no longer the offensive master he once was it will be a big improvement over Fisher. IF it falls apart then Fisher should be done. IF it works well and Petrino moves on then Fisher will have to bring in another OC.

Right now I just don't see any scenario where Fisher resumes being the OC/play caller. This is what I really like about Petrino coming in.

What does success and what does imploding w/Petrino look like to y'all?

I had it as implode just b/c I think he's only going to last 2 years tops but I also would be surprised if we win less than 7 regular season games the next two years.

Say we go 8-4 and 7-5 the next two years and split the bowls ending up w/two 8-5 seasons. Nobody will be happy w/that but would that be bad enough to fire Jimbo? Probably not due to the contract. That would put us right back in the OC shuffle where which we'll like be dancing to until '29-'30ish b/c I just don't see anyone willing to pay him $40m+ to go away.
