I’m convinced we’re allergic to this sport
Posted on 11/7/22 at 8:45 pm to Oxford Ways
The only optimism I have any more is that this is an entirely new roster so it'll take some time to gel.

With this effort, we'd be losing to anyone with a pulse right now

Kermit’s gotta go. We’ve got enough money to get a coach that can get us at least in the tourney. I don’t necessarily care about being ranked.

Time to fire up the coaching hot board.

This is Kermit's 5th season. I very much like him and it's certainly time to see some consistency. Time to see us be the type team that's not on the bubble at best. We've got one of the best on-campus arenas in the game, there are plenty of students right down the street willing to make it a home court advantage even on a rainy weekday night in January. The key, needless to say, is the product on the floor. If it's worth watching and competitive, all of the above will take care of itself.

It's not time for him to go one game into the season. A game we will win. This ain't football. The Alcorn States of the world can be dangerous against a team with many new faces. Remember, it was time for Bianco to go and look how that turned out.

Yea, but Bianco consistently makes the NCAA Tournament. I like Kermit, he recruits well and is a likable guy. In season 5 though, if he doesn't make the NCAA this year, I don't see why we would retain him. Tired of high seed NIT bids...

Yep, tired of NITs as well. No argument on that. I tried watching this one tonight but the ESPN app just wouldn't have it. I hope that clunky affair improves soon.
PS - Ruffin gotta get and stay healthy. We very much need him.

This team is just gonna struggle on offense without Ruffin. If he can get back healthy and play at the level he did last year than this team has a chance. Murrell and Ruffin can be two of the best guards in the SEC this year. If this team is going to do anything this year it comes down to those 2 guys.

He's got the season to prove himself. This is the most talented roster by recruiting rankings we've ever had. Show he can actually develop these guys and translate that to wins or find someone else who can.

Kind of a nightmare scenario all around for the basketball program being the shittey cream filling between football and a national champion baseball team
I have zero expectations and only
Hope the product is at least watchable which it was not for a majority of last season

I was pretty surprised that Kermit did not get fired last season. I would have to guess he has to at least make the NIT this season or he is gone.
Honestly at this point it kind of feels like both of our programs have been left far behind by other teams in the West after that period of everyone being awful.

Well the women have certainly been trending upward. No argument there surely.

For sure. Also hear our tiddlywinks team is taking the conference by storm.

Better offensive effort this first half

2nd half with 10 minutes and roughly 10 points lol

Well, we won but it wasn’t great.
