Been some great series for championships across all classifications. Bob Jones is beating the shite out of central in game 3. Phenix city ran out of pitching and BJ can swing it 1-9, they’ve got a Tennessee commit batting 5th. Was surprised to see Mobile Christian go down. Some great baseball in the state. Both these teams in the 7A championship can play with anybody in the country

I was on one of those state championship teams, and will be attending his funeral this weekend. Hopefully after Hartselle brings the blue map home.

Peyton Steele, UA commit, should be a good one for us coming in

Corner HS takes the final two games in 4A versus ACA to claim their first state title in any sport. They lost Game 1 7-2 on Wednesday, walked it off 7-6 in Game 2 to force the decisive Game 3 and then unloaded on ACA for a 13-0 victory on 17 hits.

Hartselle’s William Booth, AHSAA’s all-time winningest baseball coach, dies at 79

Yea, I remember in the early 90s Hartselle won the 5A title like 4 of 5 years.

In 1990 after pounding Athens by 10 runs twice, they beat my old high school team Chilton Co. 3-2 and 3-2 in xtra innings. That was like his 2nd title. Ever since those days they have had a great team.

We had one player (first baseman I forget his name), who played with the Yankees or Mets a few games, he played in Triple A until he was 30, very good 300 like hitter, but these ball clubs want a power hitter at first base, even in the 90s and 2000s.

RIP coach.

I live close to BJ and watched them some toward the end of the year when I saw how high they were ranked. Was a good time and they were legit,

I may go. We kind of had a rivalry but always respected him.

6 of the 7 classifications went to a decisive game 3. Very good baseball all week long! A LOT of really good talent as well. The Hines kid from ACA is a class of ‘25 guy and he is a STUD!!! The Henderson kid at Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa that pitched the deciding game against Hartselle is a DUDE at the plate as well! He is headed to Shelton State I believe.
