Baseball America can’t figure out what to do with us; they’ve gone from being the only poll to rank us early in the year to having us unranked/ranked well below the other polls to now still having us in the top 8 after a series loss.
I think D1 has us about right at 11 (with a chance to move back up a spot or two with a decent showing in Hoover).

The top of the ACC is a mess. Clemson & UNC have somewhat pulled ahead, but NC State. Florida St, Wake, Virginia, & Duke are a blob of good not great teams. They're all borderline 10-16 types. Its hard to put them ahead of UGA.

The fact that Texas is near the top of the conf. standings should tell you how fricking awful the Big12 is in baseball. It's the only reason Pierce still has a job. We look like shite against real competition (SEC) then the fans think we "turned the corner" once the shitty conference play starts. Unfortunately for us, this means we'll probably enter SEC play with this moron still coaching us.
On the bright side, one SEC season will fix that problem.

OU is garbage. But that isn't anything new. However, they will get a SR because of their weak conference

On the bright side, every team will have the opportunity to finish #1. The team who finishes the season #1 doesn’t generally fare too well.

Look, their pitching is not as good as needed and they likely don’t win natty. But their bats are great.
Just like in football, a great D can slow down a great O easier when given time to study/prep. In baseball when OU faces better pitching can their bats cover pitching?
If pitching is good then they might be ok. Main thing is to make Omaha and then just see what happens. I have no illusions of them winning it all.

A&M won't win it all either. Even if we are the betting favorite as some here have claimed, it's A&M. We will screw it up. And my statement is more about how terrible the Big 12 is this year ...
