Yes, but that's my point. I don't know who will have the better defense. I am hopeful that we will be on the upswing with Baker as DC, but we shall see.

If you're not high on your team, I could see that.
Thinking the offense won't be as powerful, but the defense won't be as bad. Ole Miss and Bama are the 2 biggest games; could win both, could lose both. Then it's a matter if the team stays focused down the stretch if they happen to have 2 losses going into the OU game and could finish with 3. Will be interesting to see how it plays out

LSU was in that same position before. Lost 1st round QB and 2 1st round WRs off the '06 team. That was the 1st time in college football draft history that happened. Tigers went on to win the natty in '07 with an offense that scored more than the '06 team did. Been there done that

Kevin Peoples too. He's one of the best if not the best edge coaches in college ball. In his 2 years at mizzou he produced B2B 1st team all SEC DEs

The offense will regress way less than what defense improves. win WIN

LSU NOT LOSING 3 home games. NOT going to happen.

I'll be thrilled if we win 10 games, even if we go 0-1 in the playoff.

An entirely new defensive coaching staff

I think that's going to make a lot more of a difference than a couple individual players from the portal. We may not have a ton of 1st rounders other than Harold Perkins, but I think people (especially LSU fans) are ignoring the fact that we SHOULD have average SEC talent.
The concept is that we go from an awful defense, to middle of the pack. Not elite, but competent.

If we're merely competent on defense, with the offense we expect to have, I think 10-2 at worst is an accurate prediction. You simply have to keep teams under 34 pts, basically.

I think this is a fair prediction and it is mine as well. I think 9-3, hopefully 10-2 but that will be hard. Ole Miss is the game I care the most about winning this year because I think it’s hilarious that (like Aggie) they still have never seen their team win shite and it would be funny to beat their preseason “best team ever.”

The Ole Miss game will be a battle. Looking at both teams, I would give ole miss the edge, but we are off the week before Ole Miss while they are playing on the road at South Carolina. And then they’re going to have to turn around and head right down to death Valley the next weekend. That can’t hurt our odds to get the W.

All I know is that if both teams go into that game undefeated Death Valley will be unhinged for that game. I always expected Saban coached Bama teams to handle that kind of environment but I don’t know if Ole Miss would have the cojones for that.

Just didn't see enough improvement on the defensive side of the ball and the team is thin at D line.
