Well you know how it goes. Sometimes -- when your team just ain't makin' it on the field -- you have to create and attempt to enforce an arbitrary standard of "legitimacy" upon your opponent.

If you can move the goalpoasts just enough to make the yawning chasm which separates your accomplishments from their accomplishments seem a little bit narrower... well, then that's almost as psychologically satisfying as an actual win. Especially if some 400 random trolls and their alters upvote you, lending a little bit of gravitas to your arbitrary standard.

Think of it as Internet autofellatio.
